Undergraduate funding
All first-year undergrad applicants to Concordia are automatically considered for an entrance scholarship at the time of their application and that will continue to be the case.
We are aiming to increase the amounts allocated to scholarships from our own budget or from donors and to increase the number of scholarships available as well. We are pleased to offer several awards for incoming students:
Canada Scholars Award
For Canadian applicants who apply from an out-of-province high school, and who do not qualify for Quebec resident tuition status.
Canada Scholars Award for Indigenous students
For First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples in Canada.
Canada Transfer Student Award
For external students transferring from a Canadian university or college.
Graduate tuition fee reductions
Concordia is pleased to announce that, starting in fall 2024, every incoming out-of-province Canadian graduate student in a professional program with a full-time course load will receive a new fee reduction to minimize the impact of the tuition increases as follows:
- Non-thesis students (except MFA and MA Creative Arts Therapies):
$3,000 ($1,000 per term) - MFA and MA Creative Arts Therapies students:
$15,000 (over five terms) - Graduate Diploma students:
$2,000 ($1,000 per term) - Graduate Certificate Programs:
$1,000
Admitted prior to fall 2024?
Understand fee rules and restrictions, including what changes might result in you being billed at the higher tuition rate.
If you started your degree at Concordia prior to fall 2024 as a non-Quebec resident paying the Canadian-non-Quebec tuition rate, you will be billed at the lower tuition rate unless you fall into the following situations:
- CHANGE OF DEGREE
If you change degrees, you will be subject to the higher tuition rate. For example:- BFA to BSc
- BA to BComm
- Independent student to a bachelor's degree
- Thesis-based master's degree to a course-based master's degree
- Undergraduate degree to a graduate degree
If you change concentrations or program of study within the same degree, you will NOT be subject to the higher tuition rate. For example:
- Major in Human Relations to specialization in Human Relations
- BA in Sociology to BA in Psychology
- BEng in Mechanical Engineering to BEng in Electrical Engineering
- TIME LIMIT
There is a grace period allowing you to complete the program to which you were admitted prior to fall 2024 at the lower tuition rate. This grace period ends in summer of 2029.
If you do not complete your degree by the end of the grace period and register for the fall 2029 term or any term after that, you will be subject to the higher tuition rate.
If you complete your degree AND start a new degree before the grace period ends, your new degree will be subject to the higher tuition rate.
- DEFERRAL
If you were admitted prior to fall 2024 and deferred your admission to fall 2024 or any subsequent term, you will be subject to the higher tuition rate.
