Conduct scientific research in your first year of university

Discover our unique multifaceted approach to science

The Science College offers two options to students interested in diving deeper into hands-on research and gaining a broader perspective on science:

Minor in Multidisciplinary Studies in Science

This 30-credit minor must be done along with a main degree in one of the science departments at Concordia. To be considered for acceptance into this program, students must also enrol in a program that leads to a BSc degree. Students registered for a BCompSc or a BA may be eligible after evaluation by the College. Spanning multiple disciplines, this minor offers a diversity of courses that include the history and philosophy of science, three courses examining current issues in the sciences from an interdisciplinary perspective and three research projects done in working labs in different fields.

Science First-Year Experience (SFYX): a hands-on introduction to the scientific process

This three-credit course is open to Concordia students from all fields and offers an opportunity to discover scientific research first-hand. This course offers a more accessible version of the Science College experience.
