The CFR15 team completed the design phase of the competition in 13th place, with its highest score to date.
Team veteran Hubert Berezowski said the team’s designs are likely only going to continue getting better each year. “Having a prepared team before getting to competition is the key to our success.”
The dynamic events consist of acceleration, autocross, skid pad and endurance, all set to test the vehicle’s integrity. Hubert Berezowski and Frank Sparapani were Concordia’s drivers for the endurance event. They finished in seventh place, despite fuel starvation encountered over the last three laps.
Out of the 80 registered teams, 65 made it to the competition, and out of those 65, only 18 finished the endurance event.
This year, the Concordia Formula SAE team integrated a fully functional aero package on the car, including an active rear wing. The team members also increased the amount of pre-competition testing and data collection.
Refined chassis and suspension systems along with extensive dyno tuning on the engine also helped the team put in its best performance to date.
The team will be presenting the same vehicle next year at the 2016 Michigan Formula SAE competition, in hopes of earning even higher scores.
Congratulations to the Concordia Formula racing team for all the hard work and effort put in over the years. With this level of integrity and professionalism, the team will only continue to improve.
Good luck, team! Continue making Concordia proud!
