Biography

Annabelle Brault, MA, MTA, MT-BC is a resource-oriented music therapist, musician, researcher and educator. She is a full-time lecturer in music therapy (limited-term appointment) within the Creative Arts Therapies department. She is an artist member of the Centre for the Study of Learning and Performance and an Individualized PhD candidate at Concordia University. She is the French content editor for the Canadian Journal of Music Therapy, and an advanced trainee in the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music. Alongside teaching Concordia’s music therapy graduate programs, she works as a music therapist with caregivers. Her research interests include the role of musicking in fostering digital well-being in youth, the role of the creative arts to instill social change, as well as resource-oriented approaches in clinical and educational contexts. As professional musician using electronic music media, Brault is a member of the art collective Banal, and the music collective arc. She has collaborated with artists such as Justin Wright, Cedric Noel, Tambour (Simon Leoza), Landscape of Hate, and Halka, and has played in prestigious Canadian musical institutions such as la Place des Arts and the National Music Centre.
