Behavioural complaints

Our advocates provide confidential support and can guide you through the process of filing or responding to a complaint.

Filing a complaint

If you are unsure whether you can or should file a complaint or if someone’s behaviour and/or actions are inappropriate, we invite you to speak with us to voice your concerns and explore your options.

If you do decide to file a complaint, you can opt to resolve the issue through options such as mediation or a formal hearing. We can guide you through the Code of Rights and Responsibilities and help you define your needs and decide which course of action would best suit you. Whichever option you choose, our advocates will support you through the whole process.

If you decide that a formal hearing is the best way to resolve your complaint, we will assist you in drafting your complaint, gathering evidence, preparing you and your witnesses for the hearing, and by attending your hearing with you.

A complaint is filed against you

Having a complaint filed against you can be stressful. We’re here to answer any questions you may have about the allegations and can guide you through the whole process in a confidential and non-judgmental way.

We will also accompany you to any meetings you may have with the Office of Rights and Responsibilities, help you build your case, and attend your hearing with you.
