ABOUT THE STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS INITIATIVE
Strategic Directions launch
Concordia launched the Strategic Directions initiative in January 2015 to define our vision and the action needed to become a next-generation university over the following decade.
The plan describes Concordia as “an inclusive research-engaged university focused on transformative learning, collaborative thinking and public impact, equipping students and society for a world of challenges and opportunities.”
At the heart of the plan lies our distinctive nine strategic directions, which map Concordia’s path forward and supports our commitment to equity and sustainability, the foundation of everything we do.
Phases 1 and 2
Phase 1 of the Strategic Directions initiative engaged students, faculty and staff through the speaker series, The Future of the University and the Future of Learning, consultations, working groups and other activities.
Phase 2 from September 2015 to April 2016, included two major planning efforts. The first involved faculties and units developing their own strategic plans, and the second that focused on developing institutional-wide strategies for directions identified as central to our vision of Concordia as a next-generation university.
