Professional Team Support

This position represents a 17-month appointment and 25 hours/week

Scope

The Next-Generation Cities Institute (NGCI) Professional Team Support will further the Management team in terms of coordination and administrative and logistical tasks related to performing research, hosting events, facilitating the space setting, coordinating activities around the Visualization Space, supporting social media posts and the content creation for newsletters and podcasts. Furthermore, they will support the teams working on NGCI Flagship projects. The perfect candidate should feel comfortable in multidisciplinary surroundings and represent an open mindset, professional or private interest in environmental topics, and a sustainable and resilient future.

Tasks

  • Assist in the daily operations and support the Institutes’/ Clusters’ management.
  • Organize (team) meetings and events of the Institute and prepare itineraries to ensure all employees are informed.
  • Assist in space facilitation to prepare the spaces for different work and event settings together with the other team assistants of the NGCI and the CERC.
  • Support the management team of the NGCI to organize and facilitate different kinds of events and workshops.
  • Coordinate the use and the activities connected to the Visualization Space and the VR equipment.
  • Develop audiovisual skills and content for NGCI VR environments, on an individual basis, and on a team basis.
  • Support the creation of content for newsletters, social media posts and the institute’s homepage.
  • Develop a concept and realize the production of a podcast series highlighting the research of NGCI members and CERC researchers.
  • Support the content development and project management of the Next-Generation Cities Encyclopedia.
  • Support the Tools4Cities development team through the implementation of creative audio design solutions in different software applications.

Requirements

The most important skills for this job are interpersonal competencies, multitasking, teamwork, time management, IT skills (MS Office and Teams) and problem-solving orientation.

Written and spoken proficiency in French and English.

A background in Electroacoustic Studies or other comparable fields would be an asset.
