In Conversation With is an event series featuring incredible alumni with fascinating stories.

Join us in Toronto as Paul Chesser, BA 94, GrDip 97, vice-president of University Advancement, sits down with Gina Cody, MEng 81, PhD 89, for an exclusive discussion on her path to Concordia, her journey as a woman in engineering, her passion for supporting a new generation of women in STEM and the importance of diversity in our world.

The evening will also celebrate some exceptional alumni from our 50 Under 50 cohort past and present!

RSVP by November 6.

Gina Cody has short dark hair and wears a dark suit jacket against a white background. Her portrait is next to a cityscape.

Gina Cody, MEng 81, PhD 89

Gina Cody is the first woman ever to be awarded a PhD in building engineering at Concordia. On September 24, 2018, Cody made a $15-million gift to Concordia's Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science. In recognition of her generosity and tremendous professional accomplishments, the faculty was renamed the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science. It became the first engineering faculty in Canada named after a woman and one of the first of its kind in the world.

We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully. If you require disability-related accommodations, please contact alumnievents@concordia.ca by November 1 to allow us time to coordinate your request.
