Dr. Barker will describe an integrative COMPASS Assets model of psychosocial strengths that can be fostered to buffer stress and promote emotional well-being in the face of challenging circumstances. This model is derived from her recent research aimed at identifying patterns of distress and resilience across the transition to adulthood and in university students in particular. Participants will have the opportunity to work through a COMPASS self-reflection exercise to generate strategies they can use in their lives to manage stress.
