Catherine Skothos

Catherine Skothos holds a BA in Communication Studies from Concordia University. She also completed a semester abroad in Melbourne, Australia at Swinburne University of Technology.

Her MA thesis focuses on the representation of plus-size women in media. Within her research, she will explore the effects said representation has on women through body image issues and public perception.

Catherine is interested in discovering how media representations play a role in shaping cultural norms, creating stereotypes and preconceived notions in society.
