Michael B Willcock

Michael Bramadat-Willcock currently holds a BA in Journalism from Concordia University, and is an award-winning journalist based in Quebec with experience in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, the Yukon, India, and Latin America.
Michael is interested in the practical application of different methodologies in science journalism, and investigative journalism. He conducted initial fieldwork for his MA in 2018-19 with funding from the Northern Scientific Training Program that supports projects in the discontinuous permafrost zone.
Michael’s journalism has appeared in major Canadian newspapers, digital and broadcast outlets, and has been cited in academic publications. He recently co-authored the memoir of a former child soldier, spy, and refugee from Sri Lanka’s brutal civil war.
He is now collaborating with an Indigenous leader on a book project examining the Canadian criminal justice system. Michael divides his time between Montreal and his family ranch in the Appalachian Mountains near Lac-Mégantic, where he enjoys being in the wilderness.
