Thesis title: "Without Blemish or Defect:" Disability and Biblical Interpretation
Lucas is a doctoral student whose work focuses on disabled characters in biblical stories, and how interpretations of those characters ignore their complexity in favour of reinforcing an abelist narrative that exists to stigmatize and marginalize disabled people in the world today. He also works on children's picture bibles and biblical imagery in popular culture.
