Thesis title: Progressive Christians and Religious Nones: The Politics of Boundary Negotiation
Macalister is currently pursuing their Ph.D in Religion at Concordia University. She completed her M.A. in Religions and Cultures at Concordia in 2024. She also holds an undergraduate degree from Bishop's University, with an Honours in Religion, Society, and Culture and a Major in History and Global Studies.
Their Ph.D. project will analyze the contemporary social and political implications of the label Christian within Progressive Christianity. This research will explore the links between progressive Christianities, secularism, pluralism, religious identity, and queerness within a Canadian context.
