Marie-Eve G. Castonguay

Marie-Eve G. Castonguay is an artist, independent curator, writer, educator and emerging scholar who lives and works in Tiohtià:ke | Mooniyang | Montréal. She is currently pursuing an MA in Art History at Concordia University, and her SSHRC and FRQSC-funded research focuses on an examination of the Quebecois contemporary craft field while considering the province’s political, social and economic contexts. She holds a BFA in Jewellery Design and Metalsmithing from NSCAD University (2013). Her jewellery was showcased in many exhibitions throughout Canada and internationally. She has received numerous grants and awards, notably the Autor-Joya Award in 2015 and the Jean-Cartier Award in 2020.

In recent years, she co-curated the touring exhibition "Paysage de l’intime" and co-authored the accompanying catalogue. Se also curated the Quebec exhibitions at the 2023 edition of Biennale Révélations, where Quebec was the nation of honour.

Her articles were published in Ateliers d'art, Vie des arts, Metalsmith and Bazzart, and she has written several pieces for exhibition booklets published by Galerie Noel Guyomarc'h. She teaches at the École de joaillerie de Montréal, as part of the cégep program.
