Gao Yue

Gao Yue received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Literature of Theatre, Film & Television from the Beijing Film Academy and a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese from Harbin University of Science and Technology in Harbin, China, in 2022. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Film and Moving Images in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Concordia University.

Research Interests

* Investigating film narrative strategies and the characterization of non-blood-related families in East Asian films within the context of post-colonial globalization

*Exploring the portrayal of female characters in East Asian cinema through the lens of tragic delight and character development. 

*Analyzing the presence of "Japanese writing" in Taiwanese films from the perspective of cultural hybridity in the post-colonial era

*Bridging perspectives and addressing political tensions: The significance of translating and circulating contemporary feminist films in East Asia during the post-colonial era,with a specific focus on shaping the image of elderly women in East Asia.
