Dr. Kristopher Woofter, Faculty, English Department, Dawson College, Montreal
Kristopher Woofter, PhD, teaches courses on horror, the American Gothic and the Weird tradition in literature and the moving image in the English Department of Dawson College in Montreal. He is Editor-in-Chief of Monstrum, and Co-editor of the book series B-TV: Television Under the Critical Radar (Bloomsbury). Recent publications include the collection, Shirley Jackson: A Companion (Peter Lang, 2021), nominated for a Bram Stoker Award, and American Twilight: The Cinema of Tobe Hooper (U of Texas Press, 2021), co-edited with Will Dodson. Kristopher served for ten years (2007-2017) as co-chair of the Horror Area of the Popular Culture Association, is a member of the Global Horror Studies Archive and Research Network and the Society for Cinema and Media Studies, and serves on the editorial board for the Anthem Series on Exploitation and Industry in World Cinema and for Lexington Books Horror Studies. He is also co-founder of the Montreal Monstrum Society and of the Horror Reverie symposia series.
