Philipp Dominik Keidl, Postdoctoral Fellow, Graduate Research Training Program, "Configurations of Film" in the Department of Theater, Film and Media Studies at Goethe University Frankfurt
Philipp Dominik Keidl is a postdoctoral fellow in the Graduate Research Training Program “Configurations of Film” at Goethe University Frankfurt, and a member of the JQ Young Academy, the Platform Lab and Archive/Counter-Archive. He holds a master's degree in Preservation and Presentation of the Moving Image from the University of Amsterdam and a PhD in Film and Moving Image Studies from Concordia University in Montreal. His work on media fandom, media industries, film heritage, and material culture is published in JCSM: Journal of Cinema and Media Studies, Journal of Popular Culture, Film Criticism, The Moving Image, and American Behavioral Scientist. In addition, he edited various journal issues and essay collections, inlcuding Institutionalizing Moving Image Archival Training (with Christian Gosvig Olesen), Pandemic Media (with Laliv Melamed, Vinzenz Hediger, and Antonion Somaini) and Fandom Histories (with Abby Waysdorf). Philipp is currently finishing his monograph Plastic Heritage: Fans and the Making of History.
