Alec Mathewson
Program
Alec is an artist specializing in interactive installation, digital fabrication, critical making, and design for the 'art of learning'. His work demonstrates a reflective practice in design infused with theories of constructionism. He believes there is a need to define new tools and processes that encourage accidental discovery through creative interventions with technology and critical approaches to design that can stimulate meaningful learning experiences. The outcome of his MDes is meant to spark dialogue about the value in design for the art of learning and will hopefully contribute towards future opportunities for other designers and computational artists seeking to apply their unique ways of thinking and doing in 21st-century learning environments.
