Michael Malenfant

Malenfant is a queer, Anglo-Quebecer visual artist whose work is mnemonic and emotive. Exploring broad themes of masculinity, sexuality, and power, he prefers to capture mundane yet intimate moments where subjects appear lost, dreaming or in deep thought.

Malenfant was born and raised in Pincourt, a municipality in the greater Montreal area. In 2012 he obtained a bachelor's degree in Anthropology with a minor in Archaeology from Concordia. He spent 2013-2019 in Shenyang, China where he developed a fondness for photography and visual media. You can follow him on instagram @michael_the_foreigner.
