Florence Babin-Beaudry

Florence Babin-Beaudry is a Canadian artist and cultural worker based in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal. Her photography explores the metaphysical aspect of our reality and invisible worlds. She is interested in the psychic dimension of death and absence, particularly in cases such as abortion, near-death and out-of-body experiences. Somewhere between documentary and staging, her work seeks to deconstruct the taboos surrounding these subjects, and highlight the subtleties that emerge from these intangible spaces.

Florence Babin-Beaudry holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Production (2001) and a College Degree in Photography (2020). She has received two Research and Creation Grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, and her work has been shown and published in Canada, USA, Europe and Asia. She's also been working as an art director in the film, entertainment and fashion industries for over 20 years.
