Domenic Labbate is a fourth-year computer engineering student who is a passionate problem solver with a keen interest in technology. In addition to the Dean’s List, Domenic’s is also a recipient of Concordia’s “Knowledge First” entrance scholarship.

Always remind yourself that you are in competition with yourself and no one else.

Three keys to his academic success

• Being disciplined and having a solid work ethic.
• Paying close attention to detail.
• Taking great notes. Especially when a professor hints at what might be on an exam or which topics are most relevant, I always keep this in mind!
  
  

Two study tips

• Working hard is important, but so is working efficiently. Organize what you need to study and plan out an approach for being as thorough as possible.
• Test yourself as if you are writing the exam. Practice problems without the solutions and correct yourself afterwards. This is great for preparation and self-improvement.
