Her study tip

My best study tip is to take notes during lectures, and then read them out loud to yourself when reviewing them, particularly for courses that are concept heavy. Reciting the material out loud and then explaining it to myself greatly helped with my retention and understanding. Moreover, take advantage of office hours and tutorials! There were so many occasions where I was stuck on a practice problem, and my TAs and professors were able to answer my questions and guide me to a solution.

Her best experience at Concordia

My best experience so far at the Gina Cody School was taking AERO 201 and AERO 290. The introductory class was especially memorable because it was the first time I got to work with aircraft up-close during the laboratories at l’ÉNA. Moreover, AERO 290 provided me with the opportunity to conceptually design an aeroplane as part of a team. While this experience was very challenging at times, it was also incredibly rewarding. This experience allowed me to hone my problem-solving abilities in addition to my resourcefulness, which are both essential skills to have as an engineer.

Her favorite part of the program

My favourite part of the program is the hands-on learning provided to us through laboratories and CO-OP. In Fall 2023, I worked as an intern at Pratt & Whitney Canada in manufacturing process development and I continued to work part-time until the end of Summer 2024. This internship taught me how the industry works and allowed me gain and refine my practical and interpersonal skills. For instance, I learned about the stream-finishing process, Design of Experiment (DOE), and how to map the workflow of machining processes.

Her next big goal

My next big goal is to find my second internship, preferably in the space industry. I would also like to work abroad for my third internship. I believe working abroad is an opportunity for personal growth, and a great way to immerse yourself in a new culture while pursuing your career goals.
