For his visionary, socially responsible business leadership

Rodolphe Saadé is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the CMA CGM Group, a global player in transport and logistics solutions on sea, land and air. Born in Lebanon, he earned a BComm from Concordia in 1994. With an entrepreneurial spirit, he then launched a water dispenser company before joining CMA CGM, headed by his father Jacques Saadé.

There, he learned the carrier's job, and worked his way up through the family business, managing several shipping lines including the Transatlantic and Transpacific. Appointed Vice President in 2010, he led the acquisition of NOL, a Singaporean company, which strengthened CMA CGM's position as the world's third largest shipping company.

When he became Chairman and CEO of the Group in 2017, Rodolphe Saadé aimed to develop CMA CGM on two pillars, transport and logistics, in order to provide its customers with a full range of complete and diversified solutions.

In 2019, he led the buyout of CEVA Logistics, which will be followed by its turnaround in 2021. That same year, he launches Air Cargo, CMA CGM’s new air freight division. In 2022, he conducted targeted acquisitions to strengthen the Group’s position in key logistics businesses: GEFCO for automotive logistics, Ingram for warehousing and for e-commerce, and Colis Privé for last-mile delivery.

Faithful to the Group's family values and aiming to be a global leader, Rodolphe Saadé is determined to develop CMA CGM's activities over the long term. Since 2021, he is committed to reaching Net Zero for all the activities of the Group by 2050. In line with this strategy, he has invested massively in decarbonizing CMA CGM's fleet of vessels and has created a 1.5-billion-euro Fund for Energies over five years.

Based in Marseilles and located in more than 170 countries worldwide, the CMA CGM Group is dedicated to providing a valuable contribution to the regions in which it operates. Through its network of start-up accelators, ZEBOX, its training and innovation center, TANGRAM, and the multiple actions of the CMA CGM Foundation, Rodolphe Saadé has greatly expanded CMA CGM’s social and environmental footprint.
