Caroline Ouellette is associate head coach of the Concordia Stingers women's hockey team, which ranks among Canada’s top programs of its kind.
One of women’s hockey’s most accomplished players, Ouellette has won four consecutive Olympic gold medals, 12 International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s World Championship medals and 12 Four Nations Cup medals for Team Canada. She was also team captain at the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games. Ouellette also played several seasons with Les Canadiennes, winning four Clarkson Cup championships. She was also associate head coach of Les Canadiennes for two seasons.
Ouellette is the founder of Girls Hockey Celebration, a tournament that brings young women together to play and meet role models from Canada’s Olympic team. She has also been an athlete ambassador with Right To Play since 2004, and an ambassador and active fundraiser for the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation.
As a student, Ouellette played for the Stingers, returning to join the coaching staff in 2012. She was named associate head coach in 2021 and was instrumental in helping the Stingers win gold at the 2022 and 2024 U Sports national championship and silver in 2023.
She holds a degree in criminology and women’s studies from the University of Minnesota Duluth and was inducted into their Athletes Hall of Fame.
Widely recognized for her leadership and advocacy for girls and women in sport, Ouellette was appointed to the Order of Canada (2019), Ordre national du Quebec (2023), and received the King Charles III Coronation Medal (2024).
In 2023, she made history as one of only 10 women inducted into the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame in 2023.
She received the Concordia University Alumni Association's Honorary Life Membership in 2025.
