A 30-year veteran of the banking sector, Maria Mangiocavallo is vice-president of Commercial Banking for the Quebec Region at Scotiabank, where she leads a diverse team of professionals dedicated to assisting Canadian businesses with their banking needs, trade and financing requirements.
A two-time Concordia graduate, she serves her alma mater as a member of the John Molson School of Business advisory board and a long-time honorary co-president for the Concordia Golf Classic, the university’s signature fundraising event. She was also conducive in creating a bursary for students in financial need. A dedicated Campaign for Concordia advocate, she has been instrumental in fundraising for the John Molson School. In 2023, she was the Scotiabank ambassador advocating for a $1.4 million gift to Concordia in support of Indigenous and international students at the business school.
Mangiocavallo is also an active board member of Donald Berman Maimonides and Donald Berman Jewish Eldercare Foundations. She has held board and volunteer positions at M&A Club, Société Alzheimers Rive-Sud, East Foundation, JDRF and Centraide/United Way Scotiabank. She is also the co-founder of the CAFÉ, a Scotiabank group mentoring program designed to deepen the female leadership pool in Canadian banking.
She holds an honours bachelor of commerce and graduate diploma in accountancy from Concordia and a CPA designation.
In recognition for her exceptional service to the university and the wider community, Mangiocavallo received the Concordia University Alumni Association's Humberto Santos Award of Merit and Service in 2024.
