Fathers remain greatly underrepresented across parenting interventions. Funded by a Public Health Agency of Canada grant exploring the national implementation of Connect – an attachment and trauma-informed parenting intervention for caregivers of teens and pre-teens experiencing behaviour and emotional challenges – our research team is working on reaching fathers to increase their enrollment and support their completion of Connect.
In this presentation, we will share strategies for increasing father involvement derived from our review of relevant literature and our qualitative analysis of interviews with dads, Connect program facilitators, and other stakeholders concerned with father involvement.
