Dr. Chiromo has spent over 10 years working in the field of mental health in different settings and in different roles. She has spent the last three years working in higher education two of those years have been at Concordia University as an LTA instructor. Dr. Chiromo’s work is devoted to the application of psychology from a cultural context. The framework that grounds her work is focused on bridging the gap between theory and practice through the consideration of culture. Her research interests are centered around culturally centered practices of psychology, with particular interest in the African population. Although trained in a mixed-methods design approach to research, her emphasis is on qualitative inquiry.
