NON/SENSE - 2025 SAGE Graduate Student Colloquium

Join us March 7 to 8, 2025, in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal for NON/SENSE, an English graduate colloquium where we dive into the delightful, confusing, and chaotic space between reason and absurdity. Find hilarity in the apocalypse, folly in genius, and peace in being unable to tell one from the other. In the face of chaos, what else can you do but laugh? And we’d prefer not to cry.

We're proud to have Muhammad Nour El Khairy as our keynote speaker, a filmmaker whose focus includes how the political interacts with the experimental, images as complex living systems, and the self as it appears onscreen.

NON/SENSE will feature talks from graduate students on topics such as mind/body, creative works, ecocriticism, disrupting genre conventions, and Victorian nonsense.
