Hailing from Navan, Co. Meath, Prof. Coilféir teaches the Irish language, folklore and manuscript studies at Concordia’s School of Irish Studies. He holds degrees from University College Dublin and Trinity College Dublin and has taught at several universities. He is a published author, most notably his monograph Titley, and his book of poetry, Cumhdach, as well as publications in several academic journals, such as Comhar, The Stinging Fly, Poetry of Ireland Review and Gorse. He is currently working on a research project on the ethics and internationality of translation in minority languages, with a focus on Irish.
