Émilie Laguerre has a bachelor's degree in anthropology and a certificate in applied communications from Université de Montréal. She has been executive director of diversity, equity and mobilization at Radio-Canada since December 2023.

In her previous role, as director of marketing and business communications, she directed all promotional activities with CBC and Radio-Canada's advertising partners. Prior to this, she had a 13-year career with the Renaud-Bray group, including four years as director of marketing and communications for the Renaud-Bray and Archambault banners.

Émilie's social commitment is well known: she is a member of the founding committee of the Montreal Afro-Canadian Cultural Centre, and sits on the boards of Mission Inclusion and Ateliers Speech. Born in Montreal to a Haitian father and a Quebecois mother, she has always been interested in intercultural issues, social diversity and the representation of minority groups in the media.

This event is organized for the class JOUR310 Gender, Diversity and Journalism by Professor Amélie Daoust-Boisvert. Everyone is welcome!
