Join us for an insightful evening as the Institute for Research on Migration and Society hosts a documentary screening and discussion featuring director Ky Vy Le Duc and Sarah Champagne, screenwriter and journalist at Le Devoir.

Essentiels highlights the experiences of immigrant workers with temporary status and their contributions to our society. The documentary delves into the various vulnerabilities associated with work permits in Canada and questions the limited opportunities for permanent residence available to these workers.

At a time when political discussions around temporary immigration programs are at an all-time high, this documentary sheds light on realities often misrepresented in the media and mainstream debates.

Attendees will have the opportunity to watch the documentary, followed by an engaging discussion session where Ky Vy Le Duc and Sarah Champagne will share their experiences working on the project, discuss the challenges of producing the film, and answer your questions.
