Join us on April 11 from 6 to 8 pm for the screening of Vibrations from Gaza, about how deaf children experience war, and Canada Park, about how investments from Canada contributed to creating a park on land where the existing residents were displaced.
The screening of the two short films will be followed by a discussion between Rehab Nazzal and Katsitsakwas Ellen Gabriel moderated by Anna Shah Hoque.
About the speakers:
Katsitsakwas Ellen Gabriel is an Indigenous artist and activist from Kanehsatake.
Rehab Nazzal is postdoctoral fellow at Concordia University.
Curator Anna Shah Hoque will be moderating the post-screening discussion between Rehab Nazzal and Katsitsakwas Ellen Gabriel.
Organized by the different organizations: Academics for Palestine (A4P), AIM Lab, Social Justice Center, Feminist Media Studio and regards palestiniens.

The auditorium (1.615) is located on the ground floor of the EV building. There is space for a 3 to 4 wheelchairs at the back of the auditorium. There are no push buttons on the entry door but there will be dedicated personnel awaiting to open the doors in case of a need. There are gender neutral washrooms with wheelchair access located directly beside the auditorium. Masks are strongly encouraged and will be provided at the entrance.
While we realize that the location of the event is not ideal in terms of accessibility, we also want to acknowledge that we are holding this event in unprecedented times. The current location was one of the only auditorium spaces that afforded some level of wheelchair access within our institution, and we will be improvising for the lack of the access that we wished for (such as push buttons) in order to be able to still hold space for the urgencies of our current moment.
Directions to the auditorium
· Via Rue St Catherine
When you enter from Saint Catherine Street, turn right and walk down the hallway, it is the auditorium on your right opposite the FOFA gallery. There are two wheelchair-accessible entrances at the back of the auditorium.
· Via the metro
The closest metro is the Green Line at station Guy-Concordia. There are no elevators in the Guy-Concordia Metro station. There are two flights of stairs and two escalators to reach the auditorium from the station.
When you exit the metro take the Rue Guy exit. After passing the turnstiles turn right towards the EV Building exit (by the convenience store). Go up the escalators and walk straight and turn left. The auditorium is right opposite the FOFA Art Gallery.

Projection de Vibrations from Gaza et de Canada Park

L'auditorium (1.615) est situé au rez-de-chaussée du bâtiment EV. Il y a de la place pour 3 à 4 fauteuils roulants à l'arrière de l'auditorium. Il n'y a pas de bouton-poussoir sur la porte d'entrée, mais du personnel spécialisé attendra pour ouvrir les portes en cas de besoin. Des toilettes neutres, accessibles aux fauteuils roulants, sont situées juste à côté de l'auditorium. Les masques sont fortement encouragés et seront fournis à l'entrée.
Bien que nous soyons conscient.es que l'emplacement de l'événement n'est pas idéal en termes d'accessibilité, nous organisons cet événement à une époque sans précédent. Le lieu actuel était l'un des seuls espaces auditorium à offrir un certain niveau d'accès aux fauteuils roulants au sein de notre institution, et nous improviserons pour pallier l'absence de l'accès que nous souhaitions (comme des boutons-poussoirs).
Plan d'accès à l'auditorium
- Via la rue Sainte Catherine
Lorsque vous entrez par la rue Sainte Catherine, tournez à droite et descendez le couloir. L'auditorium se trouve sur votre droite, en face de la galerie de la FOFA. Il y a deux entrées accessibles aux fauteuils roulants à l'arrière de l'auditorium.
- Par le métro
Le métro le plus proche est la ligne verte à la station Guy-Concordia. Il n'y a pas d'ascenseur à la station Guy-Concordia. Il y a deux volées d'escaliers et deux escaliers mécaniques pour atteindre l'auditorium depuis la station.
Lorsque vous sortez du métro, prenez la sortie Rue Guy. Après avoir passé les tourniquets, tournez à droite vers la sortie EV Building (près du dépanneur). Montez les escaliers roulants, allez tout droit et tournez à gauche. L'auditorium se trouve juste en face de la galerie d'art FOFA.
