Join us for a talk on Scholasticide and Food Crisis in Gaza by Dr. Ahmed Schaban.
In this talk, Dr. Ahmed Schaban will explore the profound resilience of Gaza’s population in the face of two interconnected crises: scholasticide—the deliberate destruction of educational infrastructure—and a weaponized food system.
Dr. Ahmed Schaban was Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, Al-Azhar University, Gaza. He is currently Visiting Professor in Environmental Sociology, Faculty of Environmental & Urban Change, York University, Canada.
This talk will be facilitated by Dr. Kevin Gould (Geography, Planning, and the Environment).
The talk will take place at the De Sève Cinéma (free and open to all) and will be followed by a gathering at the SHIFT Centre for Social Transformation (by invitation only).
