This session will begin with Sam exploring the legal implications of AI’s transformative impact, from breakthroughs in generative models to automation in critical sectors. Over the past year, emerging technology trends have not only pushed the boundaries of innovation but have also raised complex legal and ethical questions, particularly in areas like intellectual property, liability, and data privacy. Sam will share insights on what he is seeing and hearing from industry leaders, discussing both the opportunities and the pressing concerns businesses and regulators are grappling with.
Sam will also provide updates on key regulatory changes, including recent shifts in AI governance, compliance requirements, and the evolving legal landscape in Canada and beyond.
