🎓 Join Us for the Final CME Seminar of Fall 2024!

The Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering is excited to wrap up our CME Seminar Series – Fall 2024 with an engaging presentation by Paôlla Chrystine Pinheiro Patrício, PhD candidate at Concordia University.

🔊 Speaker:
Paôlla Patrício

Background: Bachelor's and master's degrees in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil
Industry Experience: Former process engineer specializing in mining and oil & gas plant design
Current Research: Focused on modeling and simulating heterogeneous catalytic processes, including Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) systems.

💡 Seminar Topic:

"Study of Mass Transfer Limitations in Heterogeneous Catalytic Reactions Through Modeling and Simulation"

Abstract Highlights:
Paôlla’s work tackles the complexities of modeling catalytic processes affected by mass transfer limitations. By enhancing the weighted Orthogonal Collocation (OC) method, her research offers advanced solutions for optimizing emission reduction technologies such as SCR in diesel vehicle aftertreatment systems.
