CME Seminar Series – Fall 2024

Join us on November 14th from 10:00 - 11:00 AM in Room H 562, SGW Campus for a seminar led by Golshad Ghojoghi, a Ph.D. candidate in Chemical Engineering at Concordia University.

About the Speaker: Golshad Ghojoghi is a chemical engineer with a strong background in protein-based drugs and drug delivery systems. Her research utilizes biomolecular simulations to study proteins and peptides in the context of age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a leading cause of vision loss in the elderly.

Key Topics:

  • The role of oxidative stress and inflammation in AMD progression
  • Protein targets (CD36 and IL-1RI) for AMD treatments
  • The design of minimally invasive drug delivery systems using ferritin for targeted retinal therapies

This seminar will provide valuable insights into innovative research on AMD, drug design, and delivery systems.
