Join Conservator María Castañeda Delgado (MA, 2020) as she shares care-taking practices that honour the material traditions of the Jewish Public Library's rarest books. This presentation will shed light on different types of bindings and materials used in a book’s composition, and attendees will learn about the dos and don’ts of responsible repair and see first-hand examples from our Rare Books Collection.

Castañeda Delgado is an independent conservator of works on paper and books with a studio based in Tiohtiá:ke/Montreal. Castañeda Delgado holds a Master's in Art History from Concordia University and a Bachelor's degree with honors in Cultural Heritage Conservation from the Escuela de Conservación y Restauración de Occidente in Guadalajara, Mexico.
