As part of the course Dance 401 - Winter 2024 Scenography and other spatial conditions in Dance, the students developed 7 minutes performances that reflect the archive of their last shows in the Concordia Theatre.
These one-to-one performances will take place April 10 at the Concordia Webster Library (Pavilion J.W. McConnell Bldg) from 10:45 to 12:00. We invite curious audience to join us in front of the Dance shelf on the second floor.
As an audience member, you will select a choreography you would like to get information from. The choreography - embodied by the choreographer - will take you somewhere in the library to share with you its meanings and practice.
Within the framework of this library project, we have been reading about archival practices and invited renowned dance scholar André Lepecki to discuss his text “The body as archive: the will to re-enact and the afterlife of dances”, from which the title of these small performances comes from.
