Scan of a assortment of scraps of paper and plastic waste arranged to resemble a file. paper_work.doc, an experimental exhibition that explores the intersections of sustainability, arts administration, and the materiality of labour itself

paper_work.doc is an experimental exhibition that explores the intersections of sustainability, arts administration, and the materiality of labour itself with in-situ artworks, a functioning papermaking studio, demonstrations, and workshops by Eli Bjedov-Stanković, Joé Côté-R, maya rae oppenheimer, Recycla (formerly CP3, Concordia Precious Plastic Project), Jason Sikoak, Geneviève Wallen, and María Andreína Escalona De Abreu.

The exhibition also includes contributions from Céline Bureau, the Concordia University Centre for Creative Reuse (CUCCR), and Concordia’s Fibres & Material Practices Department. Conceived as a temporary studio space, paper_work.doc is guided by experimentation, trust, and collaboration as we, the artists and curators, create in-situ works for the FOFA Gallery.

The exhibition will change, fluctuate, mutate, and inhabit the space, from July 22 to September 6, 2024.

Join us for the programming throughout the exhibition, and for the finissage on September 5, from 5 to 7 p.m..
