The Listening Choir and RECAA Choir invite you to join us in making memories sound.
The RECAA Choir will share highlights from their recent workshops exploring movement, sounding and song as part of "Songs that Connect Us" -- an on-going group-led project that encourages collaborative and meaningful group singing and story sharing.
The Listening Choir will present a repertoire of Spanish, French, and Latin Christmas songs. Christmas is explored as an occasion to make memories of home sound for those to whom Quebec is a new home.
The RECCA Choir is led by Dina Cindriฤ and composed of elders from different cultural communities of Montreal, many of whom belong to the community organisation RECAA: Respecting Elders Communities Against Abuse. The choir aims to continue RECAAโs work of cultivating a culture of respect for the elderly โ through storytelling, sounding, and song. The Listening Choir, a project led by theatre Professor Luis C. Sotelo Castro and choral director Pilar Jimรฉnez explores singing as a means of facilitating an acoustic space to accompany people impacted by violence who may want to share personal memories.
Join us for the end of the year concert with Coro a la escucha + RECCA choir!
Enjoy a night of music, snacks, and beverages.
