In celebration of Black History Month, we welcome you to “The Power of Our Stories,” a panel discussion that brings together a plurigenerational group of Black scholars and community members to explore the power of storytelling as a force in shaping Black identity and sense of belonging.

Starting from home-life and moving into the world of social and political life, panelists will discuss the importance of the family and community as a dynamic site for the preservation and transmission of Black lived experience and knowledge. Speakers will explore themes of Black joy, resistance to oppression, bearing witness, community healing and world-building across generations. All are welcome to attend.

The event is co-organized with the West-End Intergenerational Network, Comité Jeunesse N.D.G. - St-Raymond Centre, the Black Perspectives Office at Concordia University, the Council for Black Aging Montreal, Extra Miles, Prevention CDN-NDG, Depot NDG, and the English Montreal School Board.
