What is the ‘unexpected’? The ‘unexpected’ is a sudden emotionally heavy and/or triggering moment of conflict or tension that threatens to, and sometimes does, derail teaching and learning. It can arise when someone makes a comment or behaves in a way that creates inequity or marginalizes others. Whether intentional or not, the unexpected has a palpable effect on working spaces.
By the end of this session, participants will identify practical strategies for navigating ‘the unexpected’.
For online sessions, please note that the Zoom link will be provided 24 hours before the start of the workshop.
