It's not easy to find people who can support us emotionally, nor do we always know how to support others effectively when they are in emotional distress and feeling lonely. When our emotions go unprocessed, they are not gone, but are temporarily buried, with time, they manifest themselves in much stronger ways, such as anxiety, physical sickness, addictions, impulsive behaviours etc. Our bodies say no for us.
To encounter our inner worlds, we will borrow some philosophical, psychological, and neuroscience knowledge as guides, use case studies and personal stories to relate to, and discuss topics like:
What am I feeling?
How do I get in touch with my own emotions and befriend them?
Where do these feelings come from?
How do they develop?
How can I feel connected with others?
How can I improve social skills to better operate in the workplace, school, and at home?
How to not take things personally?
Objectives:
To enhance our social wellbeing, and build a harmonious relationship with ourselves and others. Together, we share and improve techniques that are Simple, Relatable, and Immediate Applicable to help each other channel negative emotions, in order to feel safer, and improve the quality of life.
How?
We understand the context: By examining present state of mind, societal pressure and living conditions
We navigate through peer stories, in order to relate, co-regulate, witness, feedback, reference
We identify uncommon senses, human bias, misjudgments, misunderstandings
Every Friday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in February, 2025
