This free mending session will teach participants two different clothing repair techniques, sashiko and patchwork. This is the second session of Repair With Care Mending Workshops held on campus, which aim to equip students and members of the Concordia community with the necessary skills to maintain their garments and keep textiles out of landfills.
These skills include mending, thinking critically about how they engage with textiles, and options outside of donation or disposal for clothing they no longer want. The purpose of the project is to initiate a dialogue surrounding clothing consumption and to provide participants with ample opportunities to improve their clothing consumption habits in a fun and judgement-free environment.
Registration is mandatory as there is a limited amount of spots available, on a first come, first served basis.
