Black Alumni Network panel: Building a legacy for here and beyond

Tania Clarke is an independent corporate director, sitting on the board of directors of the Business Development Bank of Canada, Jamieson Wellness Inc., Futurpreneur Canada and the McGill University Health Center Foundation.

Tania has held senior and executive positions in public and private companies across several industries, including manufacturing, consumer goods, retail, food and beverage, and finance. A graduate of the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University, she began her career as an auditor at KPMG in Montreal. She is a CPA in Canada and the United States with over 30 years of experience, responsible for enterprise risk, financial, reporting, governance, investor relations, legal, real estate, tax, and mergers and acquisitions. Tania taught a case course in the Concordia CPA prep program.

She has been a member of various community groups since childhood and has held board positions on the West Island Black Community Association and The Games for Hope Foundation. Tania was a judge and angel investor for the Black Entrepreneur Award with StartupFest Montreal and a national judge for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award. She also actively mentors young professionals in their career and personal journeys directly or individually with Audace aux Feminins and The West Island Black Community Association.

Alexander Sinora is an entrepreneur who partners with founders and investors to provide strategic insight and operational platform optimization for large brands and organizations such as Audi, Psycho Bunny and more.

He also co-founded and chaired the ALA, the organization that built the Black Wealth Club and multiple other programs to accelerate the career and ambition of his community.

Before his current role, Alexander worked at McKinsey & Company, focusing on innovation, strategic due diligence and go-to-market strategies, and at Deloitte as a technology consultant implementing ERPs in the finance industry.

Alexander received a BComm in accounting at John Molson School of Business.

Maya Toussaint is a passionate facilitator and DEI content tour guide with over 15 years of recruitment and HR experience. Maya is easy to spot and hear in a crowd with her big, colourful hair and hearty laugh. Maya brings a sense of humour, empathy, and real-world context to topics such as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, allyship and anti-racism practices.

Maya has spoken at large events hosted by companies such as LinkedIn, Shopify and Amazon and regularly facilitates education sessions around DEI and recruitment strategy for global organizations. Maya was recently named one of Concordia’s Top 50 Under 50 Shaping Tomorrow.

Achille Ubalijoro is an accomplished and visionary leader with more than 20 years of experience in project and program management, delivering complex and strategic digital solutions across various industries and geographies. 

Achille is also passionate about developing inspiring individuals and organizations for a better world. He is a professional business coach trained at Coaching de Gestion, where he learned how to empower and support his clients to achieve their personal and professional goals. He is a mentor at the Black Wealth Club, a board member at PMI-Montreal and the Canadian Consortium for the Digital Economy in Africa, and a founder and past president of the Rwandan Professionals Network in Canada.

In 2023, he was named chairman of the board of Irembo. Irembo designs and builds digital products for public and private institutions. Their e-government platform, IremboGov, is Rwanda’s gateway to government services and helps millions of people apply and pay for over 100 public services online. He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal, an MBA in Strategic Management of Technology from Concordia University, and several certifications in ITIL, Agile, and Project and Program Management.
