Join us at Concordia’s Département d’études françaisescocktail reception. Reconnect with fellow alumni, former and current faculty and staff during Homecoming 2024 as we celebrate the 50th anniversaries of both Concordia and the the department.
You'll hear from fellow alumni and university leaders Pascale Sicotte, dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science, Isabel Dunnigan, associate vice-president of professional education and valorisation du français, Denis Liakin, chair of the Département d'Études françaises and our emcee Françoise Naudillon.
We will screen a 10-minute film retrospective of our illustrious department, featuring recent interviews with some of our trailblazers, many of whom will be present at the event. They include Maïr Verthuy, professor emerita of literature and member of the Département d'Études françaises (1974-2008), former Director of the Institut Simone de Beauvoir (1978-1983), Donat Taddeo, former dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science (1980-1985), former Concordia president Judith Woodsworth, professor emerita of Translation, former department chair, and faculty member of the department (1980-1997 and 2018-2022), Sherry Simon, professor emerita of Translation and faculty member (1998-2022), and Lucie Lequin, professor emerita of literature, former department head and faculty member (1983-2016).
