For the third year in a row, Anne-Marie Nguyen, a JMSB co-op student who lost her mother to breast cancer while she was a student at Concordia, is organizing a pink rose breast cancer fundraiser.
Concordia's Institute of Co-operative Education has once again joined with Anne-Marie to support her breast cancer pink rose fundraiser. Thanks to the generosity of Anne-Marie, her family and friends, and the Concordia community, over $35,000 has been raised for the cause.
"On February 21, 2023, my mom lost her battle against breast cancer, after 3 years of courage and fight. For the second year in a row, I will honour her on Mother's Day by fundraising for the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation and by raising awareness about breast cancer prevention and detection," explains Anne-Marie, who graduated last year with her bachelor's degree from the John Molson School in International Business, with a minor in Management.
"Mother's Day is hard for me, so I am happy to be doing something positive for other mothers out there."
Anne-Marie and a team of volunteers will come together to sell pink roses for Mother's Day. All proceeds will go to the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation.
