This is the first session of the Teaching Dossier Development Program for Concordia faculty only. Participants are encouraged to attend all three sessions, but it is not mandatory.

Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to identify the major components of a teaching dossier and articulate some major indicators of teaching excellence.
  2. Participants will reflect on their teaching practice and identify their core beliefs around teaching methodology and practices (to prepare to write their teaching philosophy statements)

This session will provide an overview of the essential components of a teaching dossier and explore how to organize it into a compelling representation of teaching and leadership practices. Participants will engage in hands-on activities to reflect on their beliefs about teaching, learning, and educational leadership, which will serve as the foundation for writing their teaching philosophy and leadership statements. The presenter will also provide practical tips for crafting effective teaching and leadership statements, as well as guidance on how these statements will support the collection of evidence for the rest of the dossier.
