In this workshop, co-op CultivAction co-founder nico schutte (they/them) will teach participants about medicinal herb properties and how to make oxymels.
What is an oxymel? The ancient Greek word oxmeli translates to "acid and honey." The simplest definition is a sweet and sour herbal extraction of vinegar and honey. Oxymels are created by selecting particular herbs to treat personal ailments, or as a generalized health tonic. Oxymels can be consumed by adding 15-30 drops diluted into tea, water, juice, or nico's favorite way; used as a salad dressing.
Participants will learn about, and make their oxymel using, various herbs harvested and processed from the co-op CultivAction Loyola campus farm.
How can you participate? Join us in person or online by registering for the Zoom Meeting or by watching live on YouTube.
