Speakers

Dr. Ali Akgunduz

Role: Associate Dean of Academic Programs and Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Concordia University.

Expertise: Overseeing curriculum development, accreditation, and student engagement. Research focuses on airline and railway operations, lean manufacturing, and customer-driven product design.

Education: Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (University of Illinois at Chicago), MBA in Operations Management and Finance (Illinois Institute of Technology), BS in Industrial Engineering (Gazi University, Türkiye).

Gabrielle Gallant

Role: Industrial Engineering Graduate from Concordia University; currently working at Simwell (former member of IISE association in VP sponsorship)

Expertise: Specializes in simulation modeling, logistics, lean manufacturing, facilities design, and other principles.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Concordia University.

Professional Experience: Applies industrial engineering principles and simulation tools to optimize complex systems at Simwell.

Organized by the Association: Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Jose Garcete (VP Podcast): Host, Andrew Sahyouni (Director of Podcast): Responsible for script, contact with guests, and Matthew Derocher (President): Oversees production of the event (contact with 4th space team).
